Once again Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation-Verbatim (MMC-Verbatim) range of Mitsubishi Chemical's Media which includes DVD-R, DVD+R & CD-R is No. 1 in ranking, a position it has held since 2004, according to source Santa Clara Consulting Group Q3 2006 as reported by IT Backbones.
They have won in categories as detailed below:
In the DVD-R Segment, it was:
MCC-Verbatim - 20.48% (Market Leader); TDK - 14.82%; Sony - 10.37%; Maxell - 8.57%;
Memorex - 7.45%; Imation - 5.38%; Fuji - 3.06%; Ritek - 2.96%; HP - 2.54%; with Others - 24.37%.
In the DVD+R Segment, five companies were responsible for nearly two-thirds of the sales:
MCC-Verbatim - 22.33%; TDK, with 14.46%; Sony - 13.01%; Memorex - 12.03%; and Imation with 7.24%; with the rest coming from Others.
The percentages recorded for the CD-R Segment was:
MCC-Verbatim - 14.16 (Market Leader); TDK - 12.78%; Sony - 12.06%; Imation - 11.95%; Memorex - 11.21%; Maxell - 10.15%; and the rest from Others.
MCC-Verbatim led sales in the DVD+RW and CD-RW categories with percentages recorded as 18.54% and 18.86% respectively.
